Until this point, the installation of fall arrest systems was very labour intensive, involving holes being drilled through the roof and cherry pickers used inside the building to get access underneath the hole. Latchways developed a revolutionary system that allowed the product to be installed from above very quickly and without having to attach to the structural steelwork of the building. We flew in all Latchways key customers from around the world and took them to the headquarters of the Williams formula 1 team (like Latchways, a recognised centre of engineering excellence). Maximum use was made of the large screen multimedia facilities to do a live demonstration of the new method of installation. This was followed by a gourmet lunch and the opportunity to explore all the old Williams F1 cars in their museum.
